1965

  • Construction of the first factory in Gummersbach-Lantenbach

1974

  • Start of the development of own crane components (end carriages with ABUS centralised drive AZ)

  • Introduction of the ABUS wire rope hoists

1984

  • Launch of the ABUS chain hoists and the HB-System

1987

  • New development centre in Marienheide (close to Gummersbach)

1989

  • Construction of the factory in Marienheide-Rodt to be used as distribution centre as well as for the production of jib cranes and the light crane system (HB system)

  • Foundation of a subsidiary company for product distribution and service in
    Sweden

  • Foundation of a subsidiary company for product distribution and service in both
    Spain and the UK

1995

  • Introduction of the ABUS push button pendant control
