The shot blasting machine equipped with four high-performance turbines derusts and descales the steel plates to ensure excellent weld quality.	Plates of the length required for box girders are welded together on a PLC-controlled welding machine. The automatic weld sequence control system ensures the highest welding quality possible.	Web plates are welded into place to protect the girder against twisting and stiffeners are inserted to improve the overall stability of the structure.	The moving portal welding unit designed in-house by ABUS welds the web plates to the upper and lower flanges and the rails on the top of the girder. The welding unit can complete up to six welds at the same time.

The second largest ABUS production facility is the home of the manufacturing of light crane products such as the Lightweight Crane System HB and Jib Cranes as well as home for the worldwide shipping of crane components.

The aim and the task of our employees is to ensure the manufacturing of high quality products with short, reliable delivery times. This can only be achieved by motivated staff with high personal commitment and readiness for flexibility.


The automatic HB profile-welding machine guarantees a constant high-level quality-welding seam through the use of modern pulsed resistance welding machines.	IQualified and certified coded welders are the key for highest quality welding at the manual workstations. Pictured above is the welding of a pillar Jib Crane.	The high production output is achieved through an area wide linear production flow and the minimum capitalization by a low intermediate storage.	Ergonomically optimal working positions are achieved with the integration of bespoke jigs into the production process. Pictured above is a turning table for the horizontal welding of the jib arm.

Production Wire Rope Hoist R+D

Our R & D and training centre.

Close to the Overhead Crane manufacturing plant are found our Research & Development department, our training facilities and the manufacturing facility of the ABUS Wire Rope Hoist. Our aim is to build long-term business relationships with our customers by constant product testing and product optimisation in our R & D centre.

This is supported by the usage of modern technology such as CAD workstations as well as intensive R & D into engineering basics. Training for our customers is considered a major cornerstone within the extensive ABUS concept.


IOur R&D department develops our products to the bespoke requirements of our customers. Modern CAD workstations guarantee optimal and cost effective material handling solutions.	The most valuable capital is competent and well-trained employees. ABUS offers you one day or two day training courses on the most important issues concerning crane systems.
