ABUS Crane Systems at Hollandia: Lifting Solutions for High-Quality Steel Structures

At Hollandia in Krimpen aan den Ijssel, a specialist in the design and construction of complex steel structures, ABUS Kraansystemen(NL) plays an important role in the daily operations at the production site. In one of the company’s spacious halls, several crane systems have been installed to move heavy steel components safely, precisely, and efficiently.

About Hollandia

Hollandia is a leading steel construction company with over a century of experience in major infrastructure projects. These include bridges, locks, storm surge barriers, offshore structures, and other complex civil works. With a strong focus on innovation and quality, the company delivers projects worldwide that demand technical precision and reliability.

Tailor-Made Cranes for Steel Construction

In Hollandia’s production hall, several ABUS crane systems have been installed, each designed to meet the specific lifting requirements on site:

  • Two double-girder overhead travelling cranes equipped with twin electric wire rope hoists. Each hoist can lift up to 10 tonnes when the load is positioned in the centre of the crane. Due to the structure of the hall, the maximum capacity outside the marked zones is limited to 8 tonnes per hoist. This configuration allows both long and heavy components to be handled safely while maintaining flexibility in the workspace.
  • Three single-girder semi-gantry cranes with a lifting capacity of 5 tonnes each. These cranes are ideal for efficiently moving workpieces within specific areas of the hall, offering a flexible workflow without compromising lifting performance.
  • A smaller single-girder overhead travelling crane, fitted with a 2-tonne hoist, supports lighter assembly work and the handling of tools or smaller components.

Quality, Safety, and Ease of Use

The collaboration with Hollandia highlights the trust placed in the strength and reliability of ABUS crane systems. Thanks to the diversity of installed cranes, Hollandia can optimise its production processes with full control over safety, capacity, and operational efficiency in every section of the hall.
